Biography
About Eric
Eric J. Twesme is a PGA Professional based at Sioux City Country Club in Sioux City, Iowa. With decades of experience teaching golfers of all abilities — from complete beginners picking up a club for the first time to seasoned players looking to sharpen their game — Eric brings a patient, structured, and deeply personal approach to every lesson.
Eric's teaching philosophy is rooted in the belief that every golfer is different. Rather than applying a one-size-fits-all method, he takes the time to understand each student's physical capabilities, learning style, and goals before building a programme tailored specifically to them.
His Winter Indoor Session classes at Sioux City Country Club are designed to give golfers a structured, progressive learning environment during the off-season — so that when spring arrives, they step onto the course with genuine confidence and measurable improvement.
Eric is particularly passionate about growing the game among women and new golfers. His Women's programme has become a cornerstone of the academy, creating a welcoming, supportive space where participants build skills, friendships, and a lasting love of the game.
Approach
Coaching Philosophy
"Golf should be enjoyable at every level. My job is to remove the frustration, build genuine understanding, and give every student the tools to keep improving long after they leave the lesson."
Individual Focus
Every student receives personalised attention. Class sizes are capped at 12 so Eric can work with each participant directly.
Progressive Structure
Curriculum topics build on one another across the season, so students develop a complete, connected understanding of the game.
Supportive Environment
Learning golf should be enjoyable. Eric creates a relaxed, encouraging atmosphere where questions are welcomed and mistakes are part of the process.
Practical Application
Every concept taught in the indoor studio is grounded in real on-course situations, so students can immediately apply what they learn.
